Prior to law school, Mr. MacManus attended Stanford University where he received a B.A. in English with a minor in Communications. While at Stanford, Mr. MacManus was heavily involved with fundraisers and community outreach programs in an effort to raise the Latino community’s awareness of the importance of a higher education. In addition, he served as Events Coordinator for Chicanos in Health Education in the organization’s mission to encourage students in high schools throughout California to pursue a career in medicine. The writing and analytical skills which Mr. MacManus honed while at Stanford proved to be fruitful in law school, where he graduated with honors Cum Laude in the top 20% of his class and received CALI Awards for highest marks in Patent Prosecution, Bankruptcy, and Legal Policy Seminar. While in law school, Mr. MacManus was a senior member of the Law Journal Honors Society, a member of the Intellectual Property Law Society, and he served as a co-editor of the school’s Sports & Entertainment Law Society. In addition, he received a Certificate in Intellectual Property for his completion of requisite courses in Copyright Law, Trademarks & Unfair Competition, and Patent Law, among others. Mr. MacManus is a versatile law clerk specializing in a wide array of practice areas. Mr. MacManus has extensive experience prosecuting trademark applications with the USPTO, and he also has solid experience in trademarks and unfair competition, copyright, patent, trade secrets, partnerships, business and real estate litigation. As a bilingual law clerk, Mr. MacManus can offer a broad range of legal services in both English and Spanish to local and international businesses. Mr. MacManus’s bilingual skills provide him with the language tools necessary to assist domestic companies seeking to do business with companies based in Mexico, Central America, South America and the Caribbean, and vice versa. Mr. MacManus is also fully certified as a mediator.
